Civil War prisoner of war correspondence, 1864.

Letter from Thomas W. Hare to his sister, Martha, was written Feb. 7, 1864 while he was a prisoner of war at Libby Prison. His letter is brief as he is "allowed to write but 6 lines in any letter." He reports that his health is good and that Isaac Fagin and [A. Bennett?] are at Danville Prison, according to Lt. Fairfield, who is also at Libby Prison. Includes 2 stamped envelopes addressed to Martha A. Hare of Mount Pisgah and to Morgan Dickinson of Nicholsville, both in Clermont County, Ohio.
